There will be a used by date on every food item that you receive which will confirm the use by date. Then once you have heated your food any leftovers can be refrigerated for 24 hours and then enjoyed cold. If you’re not planning on heating everything when it arrives you can freeze it before heating. Just make sure you defrost thoroughly and then follow our heating instructions.
You will need to heat your food (in the oven, on the hob or microwave), we’ve already lovingly smoked all the food low ‘n’ slow in our Ole Hickory smokers and then chilled it, so you’ll just need to follow the heating instructions that we’ll put in your BBQ box.
You’ll get heating instructions with your order that will take you through the simple steps to heat in the oven. Most items take only 20 minutes to heat (the 1/2 chicken takes 30 mins), including the the Family Platter, so you won't have to spend hours in the kitchen. Once it’s in the oven though you can kick back, relax & get ready for your BBQ.
We wouldn’t advise to reheat the food at home after you’ve already heated it, but you can enjoy any leftovers cold within 24 hours of heating, just make sure you keep them in the fridge.
None of our food has been frozen so yes you can freeze if you wish when it arrives. When you’re ready to enjoy it, make sure you defrost everything thoroughly and then follow our heating instructions.
Yes, nearly everything on the menu is non-gluten containing – the only exceptions are the Smoked Sausage, Classic Mac ‘n’ Cheese and the Mac ‘n’ Cheese side dish. Each bottled cocktail is 500ml so a bottle will give you 4 servings at 125ml – there are simple instructions & serving suggestions on the bottles, plus in your box you’ll get an instructions booklet.
Each bottle of cocktail can be kept for 6 months unopened and once opened you can keep for 1 week if refrigerated.

Yes, you can order for someone else, you’ll need to complete the payment info and then complete the order with their address as the delivery address. You could alternatively buy an E-Gift Card for someone so they can choose their favourites.
At the moment we can’t take payment with a gift card but we’re looking into it. There are E-Gift Cards specifically for Hickory's At Home that can be bought and used on the store.
We ship all our orders daily using DPD for next day delivery. We operate 7 delivery days per week, you select your preferred delivery date. DPD will let you know when your order has been picked up and they’ll update you with each step of your order’s delivery. All orders placed by 2pm will be shipped for delivery the following day or for your selected future date.
We operate 7 days a week delivery and you can select the date you want to receive your BBQ box. If you’re after next day delivery you just need to make sure you place your order by 2pm the previous day.
Using DPD we can ship to all postcodes within the UK. There are certain postcodes that require longer shipping times such as the Highlands of Scotland and some of the British Isles. As our food is fresh not frozen if your postcode is one of the below your selected delivery date cannot be met.
• Scottish Highlands - AB36-38, AB55-56, FK17-21, IV1-40, IV52-54, IV63, KW1-14, PA21-40, PH19-26, PH30-41, PH49-50.
• Scottish Islands - HS1-9, IV41-51, IV55-56, KA27-28, KW15-17, PA20, PA41-49.
With DPD we aim to have your order with you within 24 hours of it being collected from us by DPD. We cannot accept responsibility for your package not getting to you within 24 hours of postage. You are responsible for ensuring you are in to collect the parcel when it is delivered. In most cases if you are not in at the time of delivery the parcel will be left in a safe place by DPD. We do we recommend downloading the DPD app. You will be able to write the instructions onto your 'profile' and take a picture of exactly where you would like your box to be left. Hickory’s accept no liability for your parcel if left in a safe place or returned to the depot. In either of these cases you will need to seek compensation from DPD directly if you are unsatisfied with the delivery.
Delivery will be made between 9am - 5pm. You will receive a notification with a one hour delivery window on the day of delivery from DPD, usually by 11am. You don't need to be in to receive your order, everything will be kept fresh. We use DPD for our deliveries and we recommend downloading the DPD app. You will be able to write the instructions onto your 'profile' and take a picture of exactly where you would like your box to be left.
DPD will keep you updated with your delivery. You’ll receive a notification when it is collected from us. On the morning of your delivery you’ll receive a notification from DPD with a one hour delivery window, usually by 11am. You can also download the DPD app to track your delivery
Delivery cost is £5 on all orders.
We work very hard with DPD to make sure that every box makes it to you on time. If your box has not arrived at your chosen delivery address on the specified day please contact DPD with your tracking information.
Our boxes are made from 100% recyclable cardboard and any plastic within your box (e.g. our sauce pots) can also go into the recycling bin. The insulation in the boxes is made from off-cuts of wasted denim so has been upcycled and these can be re-used along with our freezeable gel packs. You can freeze the gel packs and use them at your next picnic. For full details of what can be recycled and reused click here.

To change or cancel an order please email us at email@example.com Please let us know your order number, name and date. If your order has already been collected by DPD we wouldn’t be able to change this order for you.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll change your address ahead of your delivery. If you’ve placed your order for next day delivery and your BBQ box has been collected by DPD already we wouldn’t be able to change your address.

Due to the nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges for any food items. This includes our meat, platters, sides, sauces, beers & cocktails.
